Teaching

Fleur is an experienced aerialist and dance educator with a diverse background in teaching students of all ages and abilities across a variety of disciplines. She is committed to promoting physical well-being, creativity, and self-expression through movement and dance, particularly in the areas of aerial hoop, rope, contemporary dance, and strength conditioning.

Fleur believes in the power of movement as a tool for personal growth and self-expression. Whether working with children, adults, or individuals with specific needs, she aims to create a supportive and inclusive environment where every student can explore their potential, build confidence, and develop skills at their own pace. By integrating a variety of dance styles and aerial techniques into their teaching, Fleur fosters creativity, resilience, and physical well-being.

Teaching Experience

At the West Midlands Circus Centre, Fleur teaches regular weekly aerial hoop classes. In addition to this she has taught a broad range of classes on behalf of the organisation, including delivering acrobatic workshops at schools. Fleur also led sessions for deaf and hearing impaired children and refugees as a part of the Make Me Visible Project. She has taught workshops at University of Worcester through WMCC.

Fleur has led community workshops at Sandwell Libraries, as well as after-school dance clubs at St. Thomas’ Church of England Primary School for students in Years 3-6 through Black Country Dance Hub. These sessions provided a fun and supportive environment for children to explore creative movement, boosting confidence and physical fitness.

During her time working with ME Dance Company, Fleur taught classes at schools across the midlands and assisted in delivering two-day workshops at DeMontfort University, University of Wolverhampton and University of Worcester, further developing their skills in teaching dance and movement to youth and young adults.

Lunar Ladies & ACE Emergency Fund (2020)
In 2020, Fleur ran a series of empowering contemporary dance workshops for women over 30 through Lunar Ladies, culminating in a performance at Wolverhampton Arena Theatre. These workshops, funded by Arts Council England (ACE), focused on female empowerment and energy, encouraging participants to connect with their bodies and each other. Thanks to ACE Emergency Funding, Fleur continued to lead online workshops to support women during the lockdown, promoting mental and physical well-being through dance and movement.

Throughout her career, Fleur has worked in various educational settings, including teaching dance at Oasis Academy Hobmore and Nicholson School of Dance. They have taught a variety of dance styles including contemporary, ballet, and strength training, providing private lessons and group classes that cater to a range of abilities.
